Overview

Sariska (in Rajasthan) is notable for its wildlife reserve. The reserve spread over 866 sq. km. is home to the Royal Bengal Tiger, Leopards, Four Horned Antelope, Langurs, Chinkara, Wild Boar, Jungle Cat, Chital, Caracal, Hyena and the Golden Jackal. The Tiger reserve is also abundant in its flora and fauna and is a rich mix of Kadaya, Dhok, Gugal, Bamboo, Salar, Dhok, Ber and Bargad trees. In addition to the wildlife and lush flora, the Tiger reserve also has a historical touch to it. It was here that the late Mughal emperor Aurangzeb had imprisoned his brother Dara Shikoh at the Kankarwadi Fort. An ancient Hanuman temple in Pandupol is believed to have been here since the time of Pandavas. Tourists can enjoy jeep safaris into the main national park and they are advised abide the rules and regulations of the Sariska Tiger Reserve.

How to visit:

By road: To reach Sariska by road is very easy as it on the Delhi – Jaipur highway. As the roads are also in very good condition and frequent service of Deluxe and non-Deluxe buses and taxis are available on this rout.

By rail: Alwar (AWR) is the nearest railway station to Sariska which only 37 kms away from Sariska. Alwar is well connected by the Shatabadi and other express trains from other parts.

By air: The nearest airport to the Sariska is Jaipur Sanganer airport (JAI) at the distance of 107 kms which is well connected by the direst flight s from Delhi, Mumbai and some other parts also.
