Overview

A city with rich historical importance for its huge army base, Kota – Rajasthan is a modern industrial centre and more popular for its Kota-doria saris. Spectacular palaces with museum and excellent murals, and the state’s only permanent river, Chambal makes Kota famous. The fort & palace are near the river and the Kota Barrage dam to the west makes boat rides on the river scenic. Jag Mandir, a beautiful red sandstone monument, stands amidst the water place Kishore Sagar tank making it a place to visit. The tank had fountains with Musical theme. The Maharao Madho Singh Museum holds spell-binding collection of sculptures miniature paintings and armory. The fresco paintings here are fine and worth a visit. Though this place is not trending on tourist charts but travelers are frequent here for miniature paintings and murals. The place offers decent staying options and travelers got to be cautious of frauds.

How to visit:

By road: As the roads are well linked from Kota to Ajmer, Chittorgarh, Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur and Bikaner so there is a frequent bus services to Kota.

By rail: In Kota railway station is placed at the intense northern ending of the town. As Kota railway station is in between the main Delhi-Mumbai railway line so numbers of trains pass all the way through and stop here. From Delhi it will take about 10 hours to reach Kota

By air: In Kota there is small domestic airport but to connect the international flights and major flights Jaipur Sanganer airport (JAI) is the nearest international airport.
