Jim Corbett National Park is a famous tiger reserve at the beautiful foothills of the Himalaya and on the periphery of Ramganga River. Along with Tigers, other commonly seen animals here are wild elephants, rhesus macaques, sloth bears, langur monkeys, and deer including chital, hog deer, sambars and barking deer. One can also spot monitor lizards, wild boars, jackals, leopards, mugger crocodiles and gharials. Ramganga reservoir also attracts migrating birds of more than 600 species during the winter & spring seasons. Corbett National Park’s five zones are Jhirna, Sonanadi, Domunda, Bijrani and Dhikala. The nearby town is Ramnagar, which connects the place with motor-able roads & trains. Do carry binoculars, insect/mosquito repellents and other emergency supplies. No doubt, the place has ample staying options ranging from budget hotels to luxury resorts and Forest rest houses. But, making all the bookings in advance is advisable.
By road: Jim Corbett Park is situated on NH-121, and is well connected with all the major towns and cities across India; one can reach Jim Corbett Park by public transport buses run by Uttarakhand Transport Services or private cab.
By rail: The closest railway station to Corbett National Park is Ramnagar (RMR), which is 12 km from the Park. Ramnagar is the terminus of Delhi-Moradabad-Ramnagar broad gauge branch of North East Railway.
By air: Pantnagar is the closest domestic airport to Corbett National Park which is 50 kms away from Corbett National Park, however currently the flights are not operating from Pantnagar.
At 295 Km from Corbett National Park, the nearest International Airport is at Delhi. The major air link for tourists coming from northern parts of India is at Dehradun and Lucknow. Preferably, passengers availing flight from within India, or other parts of the world, should land down either to Palam
