Rajasthan’s biggest tourist destination, Jaisalmer is all about the fort town, Thar Desert, camel safari and more. Other places worth visiting include Jain Temple, Gadisagar Lake, Patwon Ki Haveli, Bada Bagh Royal cenotaphs, Khuri Sand Dunes, Sam Sand Dunes, Kuldhara (Abandoned Village), and Tanot Mata Mandir. Jaisalmer city celebrates Desert Festival in January or February every year.
By road: A good network of roads joins Jaisalmer with many destinations in and around Rajasthan. It is connected to Jodhpur and Barmer on NH-11.
By rail: Jaisalmer (JSM) is connected to major cities of India through broad gauge as well as meter gauge railway tracks. Direct trains from Jaisalmer are available to Jodhpur as well as Delhi.
By air: Jaisalmer is not directly connected to Airways, Jodhpur airport (JDH) is 300 Km away. Jodhpur is connected to all the major metros of India by government as well as private airlines. From Jodhpur one can hire cabs or take a train journey
