Well connected from Bangalore, Hampi and its forlorn ruins make the visit worthwhile. Heaps of giant boulders perched over miles of undulating terrain lie scattered over the landscape that leave every traveler spellbound. This World Heritage Site shows how years of volcanic activity and erosion resulted in such a fascinating landscape. The place in itself is a vast open museum of history, architecture & religion. The ruins of Hampi are in two sections, the Sacred Centre and the Royal Centre.
