This town with its old-world charm has several interesting tourist spots including the Gaddige (Rajas' tombs), Raja Seat, Fort, the Palace and Omkareshwara Temple. Nagarahole National Park a part of the Nilgiri Biosphere reserve is another prominent place that attracts wildlife lovers. Besides all these, the picturesque picnic spot Nisargadhama is a breathtakingly beautiful island near Madikeri with beautiful river side cottages. Coorg has different types of accommodations & beautiful resorts for a perfect holiday. How to visit:
By road: Coorg has a well-connected network of roads that connects it to most of the important cities in Karnataka. Once can hire a taxi or public transport and can enjoy the scenic beauty of the place while driving.
By rail: The Coorg do not have its own railway station, the nearest train station to reach Coorg is Mysore Junction (MYS) at a distance of 120 kms, and Mangalore junction (MANJ) at a distance of 140 kms.
By air: The nearest airport to Coorg is Mangalore (IXE) which is at a distance of 160 kms. You can easily fly to one of these airports, and then board a private taxi, bus, or car for reaching Coorg.
